WhatsOnStage Award-winner and Celebrity of “Half a Sixpence” Charlie Stemp will make his Broadway debut as Barnaby Tucker at “Hello, Dolly!” From January next year, it’s been announced.Starring Victor Garber and Bernadette Peters, Stemp will take from 20 February before an opening night on 22. Taylor Trensch, that was recently declared as one of Ben Platt’s successors at Dear Evan Hansen, is now performing in the part.
Stemp is most well known for his performance as Arthur Kipps at Half a Sixpence, for which our inspection called him a celebrity in the making.Before he leaves for New York, Stemp will star as the titular from the Palladium’s pantomime, Dick Whittington. Tickets for the series are currently available. The series is based on Thornton Wilder’s The Matchmaker, also surfaced on Broadway over 50 decades back.Tickets to your show go on sale on 9 September.
